T A D R's Accomplishments

The T.A.D.R. has an impressive list of accomplishments in the 4+ years since it's conception. Here's just a sample:

» Assisted more then 3000 people in understanding their rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

» Changed the State law regarding the enforcement of Handicap Parking, to allow volunteers with disabilities to enforce Handicap Parking on a volunteer basis after being deputized by the local law enforcement agency.

» Started a Volunteer enforcement program for Handicap Parking in the City of Columbia.

» A seated board member for the Board of Directors of The Tennessee Disability Coalition (TDC) a network of over 65 disability organizations statewide.

» A member of the U.S. National ADA Leadership Network.

» A Local ADA contracted agency for the Tennessee Disability Coalition's (TDC) ADA Project.

» Publishes a newspaper twice a year 12 pages long with a circulation of 3000 plus a 250 person mailing database that spans the U.S.

» Assisted in lobbying activities with other Tennessee Disability organizations to effect changes in the laws regarding Medicaid, Medicare, Mental Health, Mental Retardation, and other general disability issues.

All members, including Executive Board Members, and Directors are volunteers.
